Het was het wijnhuis Lungarotti, een hoeksteen van de Umbrische wijnwereld, dat in 1978 DOC erkenning verkreeg voor Torgiano Rosso en Bianco di Torgiano, en in 1990 DOCG voor Rosso di Torgiano Riserva.
Het wijnhuis heeft sindsdien zijn bereik uitgebreid naar Montefalco en zo zijn Umbrische ziel verder versterkt, met wijnen van buitengewone kwaliteit, zoals de Montefalco Rosso Lungarotti (92 pt Maroni), van elegante aromatische complexiteit en grote structuur en persistentie.
