Picolit
Picolit is an ancient native Friulian grape, grown mainly in the Colli Orientali area. Its name derives from the fact that it produces not only small clusters, but also loose ones. It is, in fact, a variety that suffers from floral abortion, that is the lack of fertilization of the flower, which does not allow the development of the fruit.
With picolit grapes an exquisite sweet wine is traditionally produced, which was already appreciated in the main European courts during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Even today, the dessert wine made with picolit is a delicious nectar with an extraordinary gustatory balance. It is a wine of great finesse and elegance, which combines a soft and seductive bouquet with a pleasant freshness.
