In the heart of the wild and unspoiled Scottish island of Skye, this distillery was born, founded by brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskills in 1830: Talisker is one of the most famous producers of Single Malt Scotch Whiskey. Talisker Scotch Whiskey has been the favorite whiskey of great writers such as Robert Louis Stevenson and Henry Morton Vollam.
The peculiarity of this whiskey is the peat: for its production, in fact, not only particularly peaty malt is used, but also water that flows on peat deposits, which gives the distillate a particular, unmistakable brackish flavor. Alongside the classic 10-year version, spiced, smoked and brackish, the range consists of two No Age Statements, "Skye" and "Storm" (93 pt WE): the first, aged in toasted barrels and refills, is easier drink; while the second, stinging like a storm, enhances Talisker's sea dog soul. Another jewel is the award-winning 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whiskey (95 pt WE) and authentic interpreter of the taste of the distillery, rich in hints of caramel and black pepper, smoking and sweet honeyed sensations.
