The Lagavulin distillery is located along the south coast of the Scottish island of Islay, in Port Ellen, near the renowned Dunvvaig castle. It is said that the same area, since 1742, had hosted numerous clandestine producers of spirits and that since 1816 it had become the home of the first legal distillery, Kildalton.
Today, the company is in the hands of James Logan Mackie, grandson of the founder of the "White Horse" distillery, who carries on the tradition of one of the most appreciated and recognized Single Malts in the world with love and dedication. Among these, the Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey Aged 8 Years, complex and intriguing with notes of black pepper and lemon, followed by toasted and smoky hints of wet wood that make it perfect smooth.
