Puglia is a mythical region, a border place that chooses a valid ally in wine to preserve traditions and knowledge that have always made it unique. In an oenological success story like that of Puglia, some famous indigenous varieties have helped to define the offer and the productive personality as in the case of Nero di Troia Violante (91 pt LG) from the Rivera winery, a wine of depth and intensity, with some brackish note of surprising balance. Interpreting the best known native variety, Primitivo di Manduria Masseria Ficarigna (94 pt LG) remains a transversal and deep wine, punctuated by spices and cocoa notes for an enveloping and always highly appreciated taste. The selection closes with Paolo Leo's Negroamaro Orfeo (92 pt LG) , a dense wine capable of ranging from red fruits to herbaceous notes of laurel, closing with pleasant tannins and a long finish.
