Fiano

Grown mainly in the province of Avellino , but also widespread in Puglia and Sicily , fiano is one of the most interesting vines, with great character and personality . According to some hypotheses, it could derive from the precious Apian grapes, already known and appreciated in ancient Roman times for their richness and sweetness. But in reality it is a very generic wording, hardly attributable to a single variety.

Grape among the richest in aromatic components , Fiano gives rise to wines with an intense and complex bouquet, with a fresh and elegant profile . In addition to floral and fruity notes, it expresses a spectrum that includes aromas of white fruit , ripe yellow fruit, exotic fruit, hazelnuts , toasted almonds and spicy hints. It is a wine capable of expressing the best of its potential after long periods of aging , which enhance the development of highly fascinating tertiary scents, as in the case of Fiano di Avellino "Alessandra" 2012 by Di Meo (Tre Bicchieri 2018) .
