In the triangle of territory between Acate, Comiso and Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa, stands the Acate Valley, one of the most important realities of the wine scene of South Eastern Sicily . The name of the company refers to the ancient name of the nearby river Dirillo , which delimits the boundary of the Vittoria plain, called by the Romans Acates amnis , and by the Greeks Acathes because of the finds of agate stones in its upper course.
