Tenuta San Leonardo
The Borgo di San Leonardo was born in the year 1000 with the construction of the church dedicated to the Saint and it was only in 1874 that it became Villa Gresti, now the home of the Marquis Guerrieri Gonzaga. Around the villa, the San Leonardo estate extends over 300 hectares of land, run by Carlo Guerrieri Gonzaga together with his son Anselmo, with the help of Luigino Tinelli and the oenologist Carlo Ferrini. The historic estate is located in the heart of Vallagarina, in the extreme south of Trentino where international vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Franc are cultivated on 30 hectares of land rich in pebbles and sandy soils. Further north, grapes such as Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling are born in the Roveré della Luna area. Tenuta San Leonardo offers authentic jewels distinguished by freshness, harmony and elegance and recently converted to organic agriculture , which allows the maximum expression of that territory.
The icon of the estate is "San Leonardo", which has established itself since 1982 among the reference names of Italian enology. Produced from the assembly of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Carmenère and Merlot, with its great roundness and an intense and extremely long aromatic persistence, it is able to rival the wines of the largest French Châteaux.
