Tenuta Carobbio was founded in the fifteenth century. In 1479, the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci was entrusted to Antonmaria Gherardini, Lisa's father. It is said that Antonmaria often went to Carobbio and presumably Lisa herself also stayed there for some time.

Today the estate is owned by the Novarese family who continues with passion and enthusiasm to produce wines of great elegance and aromatic finesse, which are characterized by aromatic intensity and longevity. The Chianti Classico and the Chianti Classico Riserva leave room for the Toscana IGT: the Sangiovese Leone, aged for 24 months in wood, the Pietraforte, pure Cabernet Sauvignon with soft tannins and the Magaldo, harmonious and enveloping 100% Merlot.
