In 1966 Robert Mondavi decided to found his winery in the heart of Napa Valley , whose sole purpose has always been to produce wines capable of competing with the best in the world.

He chose To Kalon Vineyard as the home for Robert Mondavi Winery; this vineyard is found within the area known as Oakville , renowned for the production of some of the best and finest Cabernet Sauvignon, together with Sauvignon Blanc, from which is produced one of its most famous wines: Fumé Blanc.

The " To Kalon Reserve " line represents the maximum expression of the Napa Valley terroir. To Kalon Vineyard is in fact recognized as one of the finest Grand Cru vineyards in the world . In ancient Greek it means "The Beautiful" and it is in fact from this vineyard that the grapes for the special To Kalon Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon are harvested.

The "Napa Valley" line is produced from grapes from the best areas of Napa Valley, including Oakville, Stags Leap and Carneros.
