Polvanera wines are born from a long family tradition and in particular from the decision of Filippo Cassano, owner of the winery and oenologist, to follow in his father's footsteps by founding in 2003 a project that focused exclusively on pure winemaking and on the exaltation and enhancement of native vines , Primitivo above all, creating labels of great value.

In fact, in the list of prizes awarded there are the Gioia del Colle Primitivo DOC obtained from the grapes of the most suitable vineyards of the property, which differ substantially by age of the vineyards and soil type: starting with the "14" Marchesana Vineyard , awarded with over 95 points out of 100 by the distinguished critic Daniele Cernilli of Doctor Wine, passing through the "16" Vigneto San Benedetto Corona d'Oro for the Italian Touring Club guide and concluding with the "17" Vigneto Montevella , recognized with the highest score by the AIS guides and Bibenda , Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso for six consecutive years , absolute excellence of the Apulian company.
