Oban is one of the oldest distilleries in all of Scotland . Founded in 1794 by the Stevenson brothers. Perfectly integrated into the small town, it has since produced one of the finest Scottish whiskeys . Today Oban has maintained, despite its long and troubled history, both the structure and the activities that have made its name great.

In the name of tradition, the distillery has, in fact, reached our days maintaining its contained dimensions over time, so much so that for distillation it still has only two authentic stills and a long and complex fermentation process . All this, combined with the proximity to the sea and the humid and rainy climate, makes Oban a Whiskey generally with fruity notes, medium body and distinctive spicy features.

In the restricted Oban range we certainly see the "14 Year Old" West Highland Single Malt : a perfect combination of sweetness and smoked dryness. The kindness in the taste makes it excellent also as an accompaniment to delicate fish dishes. Full-bodied almost oily, it presents itself with vanilla, woody notes, honey but also dried fruit that persist in the long finish resulting in freshness and liveliness.

Oban's most recent version of Single Malt is "Little Bay" . It is a NAS (No Age Statement) and represents the most complex version of the 14 Years Oban, decisive, complex and evocative, characterized by an antique gold color and a body of chewy richness. Initially syrupy then it dries on the long finish. The particular aging process takes place in American ex-bourbon barrels and European ex-Sherry oak barrels to then be combined in small casks, Small Cask .
