Muscazega
Taste the Sardinian "Nebiolo"
Nebiolo with a single "b": not a spelling mistake, but the name with which the inhabitants of Luras , a small town in the Sassari area where Nebbiolo found favorable terrain for its growth, defend the identity of this particular "version ”Of the most typical grape of the Langhe and its wine; name that is found in some Piedmontese historical documents dating back to 1200. Among the greatest interpreters of this particular Nebbiolo, which combines the warm and austere character of the Piedmontese counterpart with the distinctive Mediterranean scrub aromas typical of the Sardinian terroir, there is certainly the Muscazega Estate (in Sardinian "blind fly") that in the uncontaminated and colorful landscape of the Colli del Limbara, around one of the characteristic "stazzi", rural buildings of an ineffable charm in their simplicity and rusticity, give life to wines genuinely children of the territory and of the Lurese culture.
The company produces two Nebbiolo IGT, one of which is purer, Disizu , which does not make wood, the color of the label recalls the carmine red of the same wine, with a gentle palate, and Lunas (4 stars for the Vinibuoni guide of Italy 2018), which stays for more than a year in French oak barrels, gaining in complexity and longevity. Finally, a Vermentino di Gallura Superiore , the Nughes , with a scent that recalls hot honey and juniper, characterized by a slight final brackish note; the label reproduces a work by the owner, Laura Carmina, who before devoting herself to wine had a past as a painter.
