Mora Bassa
modernity in the Oltrepò Pavese
The Mora Bassa project aims to make the wines elaborated by Luigi Riccardi better known, curious and funny interpretations of the wines of Oltrepò Pavese . Among these stand out the Buttafuoco , of which the company is counted among the 13 historical producers, whose name derives from the local expression "al buta me al fogh" ("warms like fire"), to represent the character and the body typical of this wine is Sangue di Giuda , a sweet red wine that owes its organoleptic characteristics to a particular combination of clayey and calcareous soil of a specific microzone in the eastern Oltrepò Pavese.
The goal of Mora Bassa is to focus attention on the nuances that characterize these Oltrepadan wines, supporting their raison d'etre. The imaginative labels depicting the animals that populate the region were entrusted to the cartoonist Riccardo Guasco, who knew how to create unique illustrations that represented the specificity and character of each wine, with flair.
