Dievole - Chianti Classico by divine will

On May 10th of the Year of Our Lord 1090, two capons, three loaves, and six good silver Lucca pennies were paid before Notary Bellundo for the annual rent of a vineyard in Dieulele, a name derived from the medieval Latin Deus vult, meaning God wills it. Clearly, in the eyes of the first colonists, that place could not have been so beautiful and welcoming without divine will. Over the centuries, the charm of this land has remained unchanged thanks to the care of those who have safeguarded it. The current ownership has adopted a sustainability-oriented production philosophy and low environmental impact, embodying the most authentic Tuscan lifestyle. This approach translates in the vineyard and cellar into the enhancement of indigenous grape varieties, particularly Sangiovese, which after fermentation ages exclusively in cement and large barrels, following the best Chianti tradition. This is how Chianti Classico (90 pt LM), the flagship wine of the estate, and Riserva Novecento (92 pt JS), a tribute to the nine centuries of Dievole's history, come to life.

Dievole is known also and above all for its Extra Virgin Olive Oil, having won, in recent years, some of the most important awards in the oil sector. In 2016, the 100% Italian monocultivar Coratina oil was indeed elected "Best Oil in the World" by the judges of the international competition Il Magnifico.
