On 10 May of the year of the Anno Domini 1090 , two capons, three loaves and six deniers of good silver were paid in front of the notary Bellundo for the annual rent of a vineyard in that of Dieulele , a name derived from medieval Latin " Deus lo vult ", or" God wanted it ". Evidently in the eyes of the first settlers that place could not have been so beautiful and welcoming that by divine will . Over the centuries the charm of this land remains unchanged also thanks to the care of those who received it in custody. The current property has in fact adopted a production philosophy oriented towards sustainability and low environmental impact, in the name of the most authentic Tuscan lifestyle . An approach that translates into the vineyard and the cellar in the enhancement of indigenous vines , above all Sangiovese, which after vinification refines exclusively in cement and large barrels , in the best Chianti tradition. This is how Chianti Classico (90 pt Robert Parker) , the standard-bearer wine of the estate, and Riserva "Novecento" (93 pt) , a tribute to Dievole's nine centuries of history, are born.
