Despite having its headquarters in the heart of Speyside , Craigellachie stands out from the modern style typical of the region , towards which it affirms its counter-trend style. Designed by the famous Charles Doig, Craigellachie was built in 1891 by a consortium led by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. The single malts of the distillery are characterized by their full - bodied and robust style, particular and inimitable: only in the finish do they indulge towards a sweet note of caramelized pineapple . Since the foundation year, it has remained proudly old-fashioned , faithful to the principles of that deep-rooted classicism that has animated its stylistic code , from the first moment.
