Count Vistarino - Pinot Noir summit of Oltrepò Pavese

In the municipality of Rocca de 'Giorgi in Pavia, around the spectacular nineteenth-century residence Villa Fornace, the 826 hectares of Conte Vistarino extend, one of the most prestigious winery exponents of viticulture in the Oltrepò Pavese and maximum interpreter of Pinot Noir . In the nineteenth century, this variety was imported by Count Carlo Vistarino, from Burgundy , laying the foundations for a tradition linked to this grape variety which continued until the current generation represented by Ottavia Giorgi Vistarino.

The size and conformation of the landscape allowed an excellent zoning work to enhance the multiple expressions that the territory was able to offer, hence the choice to plant the different varieties in the most suitable plots to obtain wines that are faithful to the territory and enjoyable : Riesling, Bonarda, Croatina but above all Pinot Noir, the main constituent of the estate's wines, to which 140 ha and 3 cru are destined.

Ottavia Giorgi Vistarino is leading a path of qualitative growth without end, as evidenced by the results achieved in recent years by the cru of Pinot Nero Pernice (Tre Stelle Veronelli) and Bertone (Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso and Best Pinot Nero in Italy for the edition 2017 of the guide) .
