Collio

Located at the north-east end of the Italian peninsula, the Collio region is one of the most prestigious wine-growing areas of Friuli Venezia Giulia , consisting of a crescent of rolling hills that follow one another without interruption, interspersed with small villages and vineyards kissed by the light of the sun . Place full of peace and tranquility, this fascinating and mysterious terroir is the cradle of high quality wines in which the typical aromas of this part of the world are infused, characterized by a mixture of herbs, flowers and fruits .

Protected by the Julian Alps, this region enjoys exceptional soil and climatic conditions , with soils composed of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin and a continental climate characterized in summer by hot days, which allow the perfect ripening of the grapes, alternated with cool nights, which preserve acidity and develop the aromatic kit.

The most cultivated vines are Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla and Sauvignon Blanc , but Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc are also widespread, with extraordinary results.
