Albea
The Alberobello winery-museum
The Albea Winery , from the ancient name of Alberobello , is a historical reality deeply rooted in the agro-cultural fabric of this part of Puglia. Entirely made of stone, with the winemaking tanks buried in the rock, to remind the cisterns intended for the water supply of the characteristic "trullo" constructions, Albea is an integral part of an agricultural center of considerable importance which is characterized by a wealth of vineyards of high quality, Negroamaro and Primitivo in primis, from which excellent and typical wines of the territory are produced.
For some labels, including Raro, Petranera and Il Selva , the company makes use of the collaboration of Riccardo Cotarella , one of the best known and respected Italian winemakers in the world, achieving important awards from the Italian guides in the sector: Gambero Rosso, Veronelli , Bibenda, Luca Maroni, Espresso.
The upper floor of the cellar houses a museum-tribute to the Apulian wine and agricultural culture , which offers the visitor the opportunity to make a visual itinerary to discover the winemaking techniques of the past up to the sophisticated and refined technologies of modern enology that have brought Puglia to the top in the world.
