The " Benvenuto Brunello " event, organized every year in Montalcino by the Brunello di Montalcino Wine Consortium , decreed 2010 as the vintage of the wonders of Tuscan wine. A milestone that coincides with the 150 years since the unification of Italy.
The 2010 vintage was able to give a special Brunello , of excellent quality and with an elegant and deep character. The results of the vintage exceeded all expectations. Despite a delay in the vegetative phase caused by abundant spring rains, the hot and breezy days of September and October guaranteed a significant recovery, as can also be seen from the harvest parameters, which resulted in obtaining small berries and particularly skin thick and colorful. The must obtained was characterized by a high sugar content and optimal acidity, a necessary premise to be able to create wines capable of withstanding long periods of aging.
Also this year the denomination of Brunello di Montalcino has proven to be the home of choice for Sangiovese, capable of obtaining particularly generous extractive performances from the first maceration phases. A grape variety from which wines with clean and precise aromas, of great balance, with a body that has proved to be elegant and structured at the same time, with a soft tank texture, positive characteristics that are generally difficult to find in a only vintage. On the other hand, the ability and know-how of the winemakers of the appellation are known all over the world and having paid due agronomic care has allowed to stem an imperfect climate and to produce legendary wines to say the least.
