Bolla - From Soave to the origins of Amarone

It is a great story , that of the winery founded in 1883 in Sove , born from the pioneering spirit and the iron will of Abele Bolla, owner of the “Al Gambero” inn in Venice, who dreams of producing quality wines and gives life to the winery family's. The first recognition comes in 1909 with the gold medal at the Bologna Fair and in 1939, Bolla is one of the few wineries to obtain the patent from the Royal House of Savoy to be able to boast the royal coat of arms.

Also in the 1930s, Alberto, Abele's son, built a second winery in Pedemonte, to produce Valpolicella wines. On April 13, 1953 , on the occasion of his eightieth birthday, children and grandchildren bottle Alberto's favorite wine with a special label: Amarone "Riserva del Nonno", vintage 1950 . It is from this happy intuition that the luck of the Veronese wine begins: this is in fact the first Amarone labeled as such.

Together with Amarone Riserva "Le Origini" , among the most important labels of the winery we find Recioto and Amarone della Valpolicella Classico "Rhetico" , a soft, elegant and generous wine that pays homage to "Reitia", fertility and abundance of ancient Venetian populations. Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore "Poiane" and Soave Classico Superiore "Le Tufaie" complete the range.
