Louis Roederer
Roederer is an icon, a symbol, a style: the style created by the Champagne house that has influenced generations of enthusiasts and devotees and which, since its foundation in 1833, remains one of the last independent and family-run Champagne companies. Its origins actually date back to the seventeenth century when the maison had another name, but it is thanks to the arrival of Louis Roederer that we witness the change that will lead to the creation of the myth over the years: Roederer focuses his efforts on the care of the vineyards owned and on their land, buying new ones and going against the tide of the common custom of buying grapes. Louis Roederer was also a great trader, able to understand the potential of Champagne and among the first to look at the foreign market.
In fact, in 1876 the first Cuvée Prestige was born, under the name of Cristal, created specifically for Tsar Alexander II. Currently there are 240 hectares of the maison, strictly located in the Grands and Premiers Crus de la Marne. The vineyards are followed according to a "tailor-made" viticulture, based on the diversity of the soils and climate where they arise, leaving more and more space for agriculture that respects biodiversity and in a biodynamic perspective. Followed by the heirs of Louis Roederer always attentive to innovation and foresight, the maison has built up its legendary reputation over the years, which today makes Roederer one of the best known names not only in Champagne, but all over the world.
