A love story inextricably linked to wine, so much so that according to the story, Count Theodor, an expert agricultural expert and winegrower, used to give his wife large bunches of rooted vines of French origin. The company is located on the hills north of the province of Gorizia, in the Collio area, an area with a very high wine-growing vocation, where excellent viticulture has always been practiced. And it is precisely this territory, with all its particularities, that allows Villa Russiz to give its wines a unique, recognizable and highly appreciated style. Villa Russiz obtains its wines from the 45 hectares of land that include the best vineyards of the Collio, where thanks to the particular composition of the soil (the so-called Ponca, characterized by the presence of a sedimentary complex of sandstone and marl, particularly rich in minerals because of marina - the Flysch), to the mild and temperate climate that sees the cold northern winds that meet with the sea breezes that come from the nearby Adriatic Sea. Calcium carbonate, in particular, plays a great role, which from the roots of the vine reaches the grape berries, influencing their mineral and organic constitution and determining the aromatic characteristics of the grapes and the flavor of the wine.
