Veuve Ambal
Veuve Ambal is a historic brand from Burgundy, which has always been famous for the production of excellent quality Crémant. The Domaine has very ancient origins, which date back to the late nineteenth century. Anne Marie Ninot, marries the Parisian banker Antoine Emile Ambal and decides to leave Burgundy to move to the capital. She will return to her homeland only when her husband dies. From the beginning, Anne Marie helps her brother, who in Rully deals with the sale and trade of wines, but fascinated by the world of Champagne, decides to create the Maison Veuve Ambal, to produce sparkling wines in Burgundy with the Champenoise Method. After six generations, the Maison represents one of the most famous realities in the region, known internationally for the excellence of its Crémant de Bourgogne labels. Despite the progressive growth and modernization of the Domaine, Veuve Ambal has managed to preserve the ancient familiar face and an artisan passion in the care of production, which make it an important reference point for all fans.
The domaine is located near Montagny-lès-Beaune and covers an area of 250 hectares, divided into six estates, which are located in particularly suitable areas of Burgundy: from the southern area of Chablis, to the Cote d'Or and to the Maconnais Region. From an agronomic point of view, the vineyards are managed trying to limit the use of treatments to a minimum and favoring natural practices, in harmony with the need to respect the balance of the overall ecosystem. Attention to the environment led Veuve Ambal to convert part of the vineyards to the principles of organic farming. A pilot project that already finds expression in a Bio label and which in the future is most likely destined to expand to the whole domaine. The choice is based on the awareness that only starting from healthy and genuine grapes can great wines be produced, capable of authentically expressing the characteristics of the terroir. The possibility of being able to choose among the grapes coming from estates grown in various areas of Burgundy, allows the Maison to be able to create every year blends of vins clairs with different and complementary characteristics and to create cuvées of extraordinary quality. In addition to the labels produced with grapes from different territories, with the Collection Nos Domaines collection, Veuve Ambal is also committed to the enhancement of individual parcels of particular value and strong personality.
