Tua Rita
Tua Rita was born in 1984, when Rita Tua and her partner Virgilio fell in love with a farm located between the Tyrrhenian sea and the Metalliferous hills, in the heart of the Val di Cornia and decided to dedicate their lives to wine. An uncompromising choice, with 2 hectares of vineyards cultivated immediately with the utmost rigor, which in a short time make Tua Rita one of the first happy Italian experiences built on the model of the "vin de garage". Such a success that Tua Rita, over ten years, expands its vineyards up to 9 hectares, and then to 20, to reach the current 30 hectares of vineyards.
The vineyards of the company are located on constantly sloping soils, mainly composed of skeleton (stones, rocks), clay, silt, sand and, above all, a rich set of mineral microelements (typical of the metalliferous hills). These particular conditions give the wines typical ferrous notes and a nice saline character.
Wines Tua Rita
Tua Rita wines are born in the modern cellars of the company built to exploit the force of gravity for the passage from one stage of winemaking to another, and designed to create wines with few and minimally invasive enological interventions. The grapes, harvested manually in the vineyards owned by the company, are immediately selected by hand on special sorting tables and only the best bunches are soft pressed; the must passes into conical wooden vats where it completes the maceration with frequent pumping over. Malolactic fermentation and refinement follow, both carried out in barriques.
Tua Rita red wine
Tua Rita is famous above all for its red wine, in particular for Redigaffi, the first Italian wine to obtain the 100/100 of Robert Parker and at the top of the world rankings. Tua Rita Redigaffi comes from 100% Merlot grapes and ages in new barriques for 18-20 months, and when it is released on the market each bottle has a unique code that distinguishes it. The other historical wine of the company, which has accompanied it since its inception is Giusto di Notri, pure Cabernet created to amaze with its elegance, which over the years has met with the favor of wine magazines, from Decanter to Falstaff. Many others are the wines of Tua Rita born in purity from a single grape variety and aged for a long time in wood, such as Per Semper and Keir (Tua Rita's first wine vinified in amphora) both based on Syrah , the Perlato del Bosco Rosso based on Sangiovese . The range is completed by wines born from blends of grapes, such as Palazzetto, Lodano and Lodano Rosso, and white wines such as Perlato del Bosco, based on Vermentino , and Keir Ansonica, 100% Ansonica vinified in amphora.
