Tramin
The Tramin winery, one of the oldest traditional social wineries, is located in Termeno on the Wine Route, in South Tyrol . It sums up all the peculiarities of its land: the beauty of nature, the creative and productive precision aimed at constant quality, the ability to work together. The owners of Tramin, the cooperative winery founded in 1898 from a small project with a few families started by Christian Schrott, are today 300 winegrowers from the municipalities of Termeno, Ora, Egna and Montagna. The company's activity is based on the value chain: from the vineyard to the cellar, each production phase is managed by extremely involved and passionate professionals, to create wines of great quality, which embody the soul of the Alto Adige and which are intended for both the domestic and foreign markets. The company headquarters is in the small village of Termeno, in German Tramin, the homeland of Gewürztraminer . Here the very calcareous soils particularly affect the richness of the Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio vines, while higher up, at medium altitudes, the Gewürztraminer vineyards extend, only here this grape develops its unmistakable aromas. The vineyards are also developed towards Cortaccia, where Cabernet and Merlot develop their full maturity, in Egna, in the hamlets of Mazon and Glen, strongholds of Pinot Noir , and in Ora, where the undisputed king of reds is Lagrein , a native red grape of excellence of South Tyrol.
