Tenuta Sant'Antonio red wine
Tenuta Sant'Antonio produces the great traditional red wines, starting with Valpolicella Superiore La Bandina, an important red produced with the vineyards located in Mezzane, on a calcareous and rich in skeleton soil. The manual harvest preserves the grapes and demonstrates the care with which the Castagnedi family cultivates its vineyards. This wine has a deep ruby red color and is aged for 24 months in French oak tonneaux. It is characterized by the intense aromas of cherry, red fruit and tobacco and by the soft taste and full-bodied structure. It is a perfect wine to accompany the first courses with elaborate sauces, the second courses with red meat and aged cheeses. Tenuta Sant'Antonio wines are the perfect representation of Veneto, just think of Nanfré, whose name comes from Gianfranco called Gianfré, a Venetian gentleman who once owned the vineyard. The Nanfré is a Valpolicella from clayey soils, obtained from hand-picked Corvina and Rondinella grapes. It is a fruity and spicy ruby red wine, excellent to combine with cured meats, pasta-based first courses and both fish and vegetable soups. A truly emblematic Tenuta Sant'Antonio red wine is Monti Garbi Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, obtained from the impervious vineyards located on the Garbi Mountains and produced following tradition. Ripasso can only be produced in Valpolicella and is obtained by pouring the basic Valpolicella wine into the vats where the Amarone was pressed, letting the wine rest in contact with the pressed pomace, in order to let it acquire the aroma of Amarone. This red wine is extremely soft and enveloping, it is characterized by intense aromas of red fruit and cherry and is suitable for a long aging. Buy it today and you decide when to taste it, it is perfect now as well as for the next 10 years.
