Tenuta del Buonamico
Tenuta del Buonamico is a historic company in Montecarlo di Lucca, based in the Cercatoia area. Owned by the Fontana family since 2008, today it is under the guidance of Dino and his son Eugenio Fontana, but it is since 1964, the year of its birth, that it has built a name in the world thanks to a production of fine wines of the highest quality that from 1967 can boast the Montecarlo DOC denomination.
The origin of the name Buonamico is curious, as it does not refer to the name of the native Tuscan vine of the same name, but to the flask of wine that Enzo and Ciro Grassi of the Al Gatto Nero restaurant, the place that first hosted the tasting of the wines of the estate . It was given the name of "Buonamico", indicating that the wine was a good "friend of what was served on the table".
