Talisker
Talisker is a Single Malt Scotch Whiskey that has been produced on the Isle of Skye, Scotland , for more than 200 years. It is a wild and powerful whiskey that embodies the very soul of the rugged and stormy island where it was born. Talisker's story begins in 1825, when brothers Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill crossed the Atlantic Ocean and arrived on the Isle of Skye from the Isle of Eigg. In 1830, construction work began on the Talisker distillery on the shores of Loch Harport in Carbost and in 1857 they rented the distillery to Donald McLellan. Due to McLellan's bankruptcy, the Talisker distillery soon passed under the leadership of John Anderson, who at the time considered Talisker the best Whiskey on the market. During the 1880s, the management of the distillery came under the control of Alexander Grigor Allan and Roderick Kemp, who soon decided to sell his stake, leaving the distillery in the hands of Allan. In 1898 Allan decided to merge with Thomas MacKenzie giving rise to the Dailuiane-Talisker Distillery Co. Ltd. In the early 1900s Talisker was already one of the most famous and renowned Scotch Whiskeys in Scotland. During the war it suffered a setback like many other Scottish distilleries, but the recovery began only after 1962, due to a fire that destroyed the five stills of the distillery. Within a few years they were restored and by 1970, Talisker Scotch Whiskey began to be made with malt sourced from Glen Ord Central Maltings, in the Highlands . Talisker is the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, after 200 years it continues to produce a single malt appreciated and loved all over the world, whose nature seems to be forged by the sea, for its aromatic and gustatory power. Scotch Whiskey Single Malt Talisker are full-bodied and refined, raw like the Isle of Skye, characterized by sweet and spicy smoky notes, aromas of berries and green musk. The Talisker is a Whiskey "made by the sea", with saline notes like the ocean. Talisker Whiskeys are perfect to be savored in summer in cocktails such as Talisker Sea Sour with spicy lemon and sweet honey and in winter mixed with hot chocolate.
