Schiavenza
Schiavenza is one of the youngest and most promising wineries in Barolo . Started by brothers Vittorio and Ugo Alessandria, the Schiavenza winery is now followed by their daughter Maura Alessandria, with the indispensable help of her husband Luciano Pira, agronomist and cellarman, and her brother-in-law Walter Anselma. In these areas agricultural and wine-growing activities have a long tradition, and in the past the farmhouse and its lands were owned by the Opera Pia Barolo, and the work was carried out by sharecroppers called schiavenza, who gave the current name to the agency.
The company production is concentrated on wines obtained from the red berried vines typical of the Langhe, with particular attention to Nebbiolo , because the company owns vineyards not only in the Serralunga d'Alba area and in the Cerretta cru in particular, but also in the municipality of Monforte d'Alba. Among their best labels we find the elegant Barolo Cerretta obtained from the grapes of the Cru Cerretta and with a great aromatic complexity , which ranges from the aromas of red fruits to mineral nuances, the Barolo di Serralunga d'Alba , of great longevity, structure and complexity , and Barolo Broglio , born from the Cru Broglio and with the aromas of violet and dried rose typical of a great Barolo.
Enjoy the red wines of Schiavenza one by one, pair them with Piedmontese dishes such as traditional tagliolini with truffles and fassone tartare, or let yourself be surprised by how they enhance the red meats you love most, from stewed game to braised meats, from stew with carpaccio . Choose the great Piedmontese red wines of this small company, treat yourself to a unique pleasure.
