Salcheto
Salcheto is a reality that was born from the idea of Michele Manelli in 1997, in the Sienese area of the Nobile di Montepulciano appellation. The 50 hectares of vineyards - diversified between typical indigenous vines such as Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Canaiolo and more "international varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc - constitute the production strength of the company, which has always respected environmental sustainability and biodiversity, adhering to organic and biodynamic agriculture. In this sense, Salcheto represents a real example of avant-garde in biodynamics, thanks to environmental management indicators such as Carbon Footprint for gas emissions and Water Footprint for controlling water use.
Through manual harvesting, sulphite-free vinification, the use of indigenous yeasts and the winemaking technique of the "government for Tuscan use", the great wines of Salcheto are created, which aim to be as natural and authentic expression as possible territory of Montepulciano.
