Podere Fortuna
Podere Fortuna is located in Scarperia, in the province of Florence and near the Mugello. Fortuna was one of the twelve farms of the Castle of Cafaggiolo, the historic nucleus in Mugello of the properties of the De' Medici family. Despite its ancient origins, the winery saw the light of day only in 1998, when the estate was resumed and the land, which had been abandoned for years, was renewed. With the help of the well-known agronomist Andrea Paoletti, Podere Fortuna makes a very original choice: that of planting almost exclusively Pinot Noir, the main vine of Burgundy. With the help of Pierre Marie Guillaume, the best-known nurseryman in Burgundy, choices are then made aimed at the development and qualitative yield of this vine.
Today Podere Fortuna produces three Pinot Noirs: two that take their names from the vineyards they come from, Fortuni and Coldaia, and the third made exclusively in the best vintages. All this obtained thanks to the union of the French tradition with that of the Tuscan territory.
