Pampero is a Rum produced in Venezuela by Industrias Pampero and today distributed by Diageo. Industrias Pampero was founded in Caracas in 1938 by Alejandro Hernández and Luis Manuel Toro. Over the years, the artisanal production of Rum Pampero was gradually industrialized. The improvement in production techniques favored the birth of very high quality Rum, characterized by a golden color and an aging of at least 24 months. From this change in the production methods of Industrias Pampero resulted in a legislative adjustment throughout the state of Venezuela. A distillate could only be called "Rum" if the aging process lasted at least 24 months.
