Marchesi Pancrazi
The Bagnolo estate dates back to the 1500s and was built by the Florentine family of the Strozzi princes, who remained the sole owners until 1965, when the last member of the family bequeathed it to her niece, Cristina Morrocchi in Pancrazi. Chance played a fundamental role in the history of the Marchesi Pancrazi's wine production: in 1970, when the vineyards of the Bagnolo farm were replanted, the nurseryman made an error, who supplied Pinot Noir instead of the traditional Sangiovese. The mistake proved to be fortunate, because the characteristics of the soil and climate allow for the production of a high quality Pinot Noir, enhancing its characteristics and aromas.
