Lunae
The Lunae winery has a thousand-year history that dates back to the times of the Etruscans, Greeks and Romans, from whom it inherited the great winemaking tradition. The company was founded in 1966 thanks to the passion of Paolo Bosoni, who took the reins of the family possessions, focusing his attention on viticulture. The winery is located in the extraordinary terroir of the Colli di Luni, south of the Magra river, within the province of La Spezia, on the border between Liguria and Tuscany . The name Lunae derives from the name of the city of Luni, an ancient Etruscan port, consecrated to the goddess Selene, which means Moon for the Latins. Lunae has been cultivating the vineyard, producing wine and enhancing the culture of the territory for three generations, with a completely familiar condition handed down from father to son. Lunae wines express the personality and character of native vines, respecting the terroir and the different cultivated areas.
Lunae wines
The Lunae vineyards consist of small plots of land (no larger than 2-3 hectares), rich in skeleton and minerals, which thanks to the Apuan Alps are protected from the cold north winds, and benefit from good ventilation and a considerable thermal excursion thanks to the proximity of the sea. These particular conditions are excellent for the quality and character of the wines. The attention in the vineyard is maximum, no herbicides are used and the fertilizers are exclusively natural. A part of the plots is dedicated to experimental vineyards, in collaboration with the CNR of Turin and the Liguria Region. The grapes, harvested manually in crates, are processed in the modern cellar, the true heart of Lunae, created to preserve the quality created in the vineyard with careful and constant work in all stages of vinification up to bottling and aging in the bottle, in steel and Wood.
