Lisini
Lisini is a historic Brunello di Montalcino company, one of the 24 founding companies of the Consortium in 1967 and dating back to an ancient noble family that has its origins in these lands as early as the mid-16th century. Although the family has always been involved in viticulture in these areas, the actual production of wine begins in the early 1900s when Ludovico inherits the family vineyards, carrying out major renovations and planting new vineyards. Upon Ludovico's death, the company passed to his daughter Elina who remained at his helm until 2009 and also became president of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium.
Today Lisini extends for about 24 hectares in the heart of the Montalcino terroir, all strictly Sangiovese. The particular position of these, together with the microclimate of this side of Montalcino, characterized by the marine currents of the Maremma and reduced rainfall, allow Sangiovese to have different characteristics from those more typical of other companies in the area and to produce wines that are unique of their kind. Lisini is today an important name in Brunello, being able to boast of international awards and recognitions that attest to the dedication and vocation of the family to the production of great wines.
