Il Poggione
Historic company of Brunello di Montalcino, Il Poggione, which owes its origins to a Florentine landowner named Lavinio Franceschi, who arrived in these lands by chance at the end of the 19th century. The company, which had been producing and trading its own wines since the early 1900s, was among the founding members of the Brunello di Montalcino Consortium and today, a reference point for lovers of this wine. There are 530 hectares of land, 140 of which are vineyards, most of which obviously are Sangiovese - which has always dominated unchallenged in these parts. Sustainable agriculture and reduced interventions in the vineyard are just some of the precautions of this company, which aims at the quality and substance of a product that must necessarily be the result of a great terroir like Montalcino.
