Hennessy
A name certainly among the most relevant and synonymous with the great Cognac, that of the maison Hennessy, which was born in 1765 in the French city of Cognac thanks to its founder Richard Hennessy - an Irish officer who served in the army of Louis XV. The distillery, which today is owned by the French group LMVH, is probably the most important in the field of cognacs, having helped to create the certification acronym for brandy and cognac VSOP - Very Superior Old Pale - when King George IV of Gran Brittany commissioned the maison to produce an aged cognac of superior quality. Since then, the maison has continued in the mission of creating cognacs of excellence, appreciated all over the world and which already in the nineteenth century traveled in ships to Europe, the United States, China and Russia and which still today constitutes an essential reality of cognacs.
