Florio
Florio is a brand founded in 1833 in Marsala which, together with Corvo, forms the group of Duca di Salaparuta. It was Vincenzo Florio who started production, the son of a family of very important entrepreneurs in Sicily, active in various fields, from tuna traps to foundries and ceramic factories. With an important heritage behind him, therefore, Vincenzo started the business by building the splendid tuff cellars, which still welcome visitors to the company's headquarters in Marsala. Specialized in the production of sweet and passito wines, today Florio is among the leading companies of Marsala, coming from the vineyards owned by Grillo and Catarratto in the province of Marsala, but also of Passiti di Pantelleria, which come from Zibibbo grapes harvested and vinified directly on the island. The Marsala di Florio are sought after and appreciated by a vast public that goes beyond the Italian one and has received prestigious international awards assigned by personalities of the caliber of Robert Parker.
