Fattoria dei Barbi is a winery located in Montalcino, owned by the Cinelli Colombini family. The Colombini are a historic Sienese noble family who owned land in Montalcino as early as 1352. Today the property includes 350 hectares, including the denominations of Brunello di Montalcino , Morellino di Scansano and Chianti . For more than six centuries the heirs have carried on the family business respecting their origins and traditions. Brunello di Montalcino Cinelli Colombini has been produced at the Fattoria dei Barbi since 1892 and today the company is headed by Stefano Cinelli Colombini. The Brunello of the Fattoria dei Barbi is one of the most famous in the world, it has been appreciated and awarded since the end of the 1800s, just think that it was the first Brunello to be exported to America. Pioneers of innovation and pillars of tradition, Cinelli Colombini produces around 800,000 bottles of which 200,000 of Brunello. At the end of the 90s Stefano Cinelli decided to expand the property towards the Tuscan Maremma, buying 28 hectares of land belonging to the Morellino di Scansano appellation. There they founded L'Aquilaia dei Barbi.

Fattoria dei Barbi produces red wines belonging to different denominations of origin. The most renowned Rosso is Brunello di Montalcino, a wine that the company produces in three versions: the blue label, the white label and the red label. The blue label is the most important Brunello of the Fattoria dei Barbi, it was harvested for the first time in 1892 and has been produced following tradition for more than a century. The Sangiovese used to produce Morellino must be grown in a little intensive way in order to ensure a high quality level. It is a perfect wine to combine with meat dishes, roasts, cured meats and aged cheeses, but its peculiarity is that it goes very well with particularly spicy fish soups.
