Drambuie
Drambuie's Heather Honey Whiskey liqueur is a liqueur from the Isle of Skye obtained from a unique blend of aged scotch whiskey and heather honey, herbs and spices. Legend has it that Prince Charles Edward Stuart, defeated at the Battle of Culloden in 1745 in an attempt to restore his family to the throne of England, and pursued by the King's troops throughout Scotland, was helped by the MacKinnon clan chief to escape. from the Isle of Skye. In exchange for his help, the Prince gave MacKinnon the secret recipe of an elixir to pass on to future generations. The recipe arrived at the Broadford Hotel in Skye, where customers to whom it was served defined it in Gaelic as "An Dram Buidheach", a satisfying drink, later abbreviated to Drambuie.
