Don Julio
Don Julio tequila was born from its namesake founder Don Julio González who, in the early 1940s, decided to open a distillery in the state of Jalisco - in the western part of Mexico. Don Julio had the merit of revolutionizing the tequila production process, personally following the agave plants in their growth, waiting for them to reach full maturity before harvesting them and selecting only the juiciest parts of the piña - the central part of the agave - before cooking them slowly for 72 hours. Even the typical short bottle was Don Julio's prerogative, since up until that time tequila was produced in tall, narrow bottles. Don Julio today represents a legendary brand of tequila, which weighs like few others and has always guaranteed a standard of the highest quality.
