Domaine de l'Ecu
Located in the village of Le Landreau, in the Loire Valley, Domaine de l'Ecu is a winemaking reality with a strongly biodynamic creed, whose deepest desire is to make wines without any interference in the bond that unites each label with its terroir of origin. Hence the choice of maturation in amphora, an onerous and difficult method of aging but which brings unparalleled results in terms of purity and expressiveness of the fruit.
The founder, oenologist Guy Bossard, has built up his reputation as a master of Muscadet over time for his ability to produce great natural wines based on Melon de Bourgogne grapes within the prestigious Muscadet-Sévre-et-Maine appellation. Today his technical knowledge and the teachings gained thanks to his undeniable experience are preserved in his heir: Fred Niger von Herck. Wines come to light that have authentic characteristics of minerality and freshness in their strings, recognized by the greatest restaurants in the world, such as the Danish Noma or the Bernardin of New York.
