Castello di Verduno
The cellars of Castello di Verduno have a long history, which begins in 1838. In this year the castle was acquired by King Carlo Alberto of Savoy, who gave General Staglieno, an expert enologist, the task of obtaining Nebbiolo grapes from the best vineyards a great wine: the Barolo of the Verduno Castle. Since then the cellars have never stopped giving life to noble red wines, even at the beginning of the twentieth century when the Burlotto family, who became the owners of the castle, decided to continue the production tradition of the Savoy. Today the Castello di Verduno boasts, thanks to the land between the hills of Verduno and Barbaresco, the two most precious oenological jewels of the Langa: Barolo and Barbaresco.
