Castel Sallegg
Tradition, wine and land: a historical link, which has lasted since 1851, unites the Castel Sallegg winery to the Caldaro terroir, one of the most suitable areas from a wine-making point of view in all of South Tyrol. It is a family-run business, which sees in the counts of Kuenburg the custodians of an oenological tradition that has its roots in these areas for more than 1000 years. Castel Sallegg is a production reality in which passion and attention to detail are fundamental values, at the basis of the enhancement of a territory that, at a distance of a few tens of meters, is able to give life to wines with very different characteristics. Precisely for this reason the winery team is extremely careful in harmonizing the three fundamental factors that lie behind the creation of an excellent label: soil, climate and grape variety.
In the vineyards, which extend for about 30 hectares around Lake Caldaro, on slopes between 230 and 550 meters above sea level, both native and international vines are grown, among which the now very rare Moscato Rosa stands out. Between the rows the operations are carried out with great rigor, while in the cellar tradition and innovation come together in a strong bond, aimed at a continuous desire to improve. Castell Sallegg produces every year a range of very interesting bottles, which, thanks to a strong bond with the territory, express pure, sincere and authentic organoleptic sensations.
