The Casa di Terra Farm is located in the heart of the Bolgheri amphitheater, a splendid hilly area that slopes gently down to the coast of the Tuscan coast. It is a territory that has a fairly recent history in the context of the wine tradition, but which has been able to establish itself in national and international attention in a few decades with some reds of great value and personality. The estate was born in the 1950s and is located within the municipal area of Castagneto Carducci. The vines can enjoy excellent climatic conditions. The chain of hills, which runs parallel to the coast, constitutes a real natural barrier against the cold air currents that descend from the north-east, protecting the coastal area from perturbations. The proximity of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with its regime of gentle breezes, helps to mitigate the temperatures. Furthermore, the Bolgheri area can count on an exceptional brightness, due to the natural sun exposure and the reflection of the sea in front, which creates a sort of mirror effect. Thanks to these fortunate pedoclimatic conditions, the vines produce clusters with particularly rich and intense aromatic profiles. The soils are quite heterogeneous, with the presence of alluvial deposits rich in pebbles and gravels, sea sands, limestone veins and rocks of ancient volcanic matrix.

In this particular terroir, the famous Bordeaux vines have found a second home: cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot and the syrah of the Rhône Valley. Among the white berried varieties, Vermentino stands out, which has always been present along the Tuscan coast. The Fattoria Casa di Terra estate covers a total of 45 hectares, divided into different plots, which are located in various areas of the Bolgheri area: along the Bolgherese road, in the locality of Sondraie, Ferrugini, Guado de'Gemoli and at the Ladronaia farm in the territory municipal of Cecina. Each vine can thus be grown in the area that best suits its needs, in order to achieve the best expressive results. The winery, perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, is located in the center of the estate and is part of a natural context of rare beauty. The wines of Fattoria Casa di Terra are a faithful interpretation of the territory, with a range of reds with a harmonious and Mediterranean, elegant and intense face, which perfectly represent the character of the Bolgheri lands.
