Campo al Faro
Campo al Faro wines are born on the coast of the Tuscan Maremma, within a characteristic and suggestive landscape, made famous by the verses of Giosuè Carducci. The sea breezes that come from the Tyrrhenian coast and the wooded areas of the hinterland create the perfect microclimate for the production of great Bordeaux-style red wines, as well as delicate rosés and fine whites made from Vermentino grapes. Campo al Faro has grasped the potential of this land and has been able to enhance it with its wines: the lighthouse is in fact the symbol of solidity, because it is rooted in the earth, but also of aspirations, for the light it emanates. This is the philosophy behind the excellence of the Campo Al Faro brand: from the fine Bolgheri Superiore DOC and Bolgheri Rosso DOC, to Vermentino and Rosato Costa Toscana IGT, all available on Vino.com.
Campo al Faro red wine
The Campo al Faro red wine originates from one of the most prestigious Italian denominations, the Bolgheri DOC . Here, in 1944 the Marquis Incisa Rocchetta planted the first vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc , from which he obtained one of the most popular wines in the world today. Campo al Faro fits into this tradition with its fine Bolgheri Superiore DOC and Bolgheri Rosso DOC, obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes, harvested and selected by hand.
Campo al Faro White Wine
The Campo al Faro white wine is a real tribute to the Maremma coast and its warm climate but breezy by the breezes coming from the sea. It is therefore not surprising the fresh and intense taste that we find both in the Bolgheri Bianco Campo al Faro and in the Vermentino Campo al Faro. Bolgheri Bianco is a blend of Vermentino and Viognier , with a clear prevalence of the first variety. The nose releases an intense aroma of white pulp fruit, such as banana and pear, accompanied by floral and citrus notes. In the mouth its pleasant flavor and minerality stands out. Vermentino, on the other hand, has a round and mineral taste, with an almost salty finish. Two wines both to try, available on Vino.com.
What are the characteristics of the Bolgheri Superiore Campo al Faro?
Bolgheri Superiore Campo al Faro is produced in the splendid terroir of the reference DOC, starting from the cultivation of the grapes up to the refinement in the bottle. It is a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot: after the harvest and manual selection of the grapes, fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature begins, followed by a long maceration on the skins. The aging in barriques lasts 16 months and continues for a further period in the bottle. This long winemaking process gives Bolgheri Superiore Campo al Faro a complex structure, as well as an intense aroma of berries and spices. Vino.com recommends it in combination with dishes based on red meat, game or medium-long-aged cheeses.
What are the characteristics of Vermentino Campo al Faro?
Vermentino Campo al Faro comes from 100% Vermentino grapes, rigorously harvested by hand and left to refine in steel. It is a fresh, savory and compact wine, with a persistent finish. The scent is unmistakable: a floral bouquet to which notes of chinotto and pink grapefruit are added, along with hints of fresh herbs. In other words, a wine that tastes of summer, perfect to be tasted both at the time of the aperitif and in combination with fish dishes.
