An innovative and experimental company, San Felice is unequivocally associated with the image of 'Il Grigio', one of the most successful Chianti Classico Riserva ever. The Chianti estate, located in the territory of the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena, has long been a symbol of research and enhancement of native vines. The acquisition of Tenuta Campogiovanni in Montalcino and Bell'Aja in Bolgheri confirm the resourcefulness and talent expressed by San Felice in the areas with a high wine-growing vocation of Tuscany.
Bright ruby red in color, the Chianti Classico di San Felice (91 pt JS) already has all the potential of Sangiovese, balancing compact hints of red fruits with fresh acidity and pleasant tannins. Produced with the best Sangiovese grapes selected in the company's Chianti Classico vineyards, the Grigio Chianti Classico Riserva offers aromas of violets and red fruits to the nose and has a rich and round taste, with soft tannins and well integrated with notes of cocoa and vanilla . The Gran Selezione version expresses currant aromas and a detailed floral bouquet on the nose while it owes more mature hints of cocoa, licorice and tobacco to the long aging. Also worth trying is the famous Vigorello, progenitor of the Supertuscans, released for the first time in 1968, currently the first to be produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
