On 10 May of the year of Anno Domini 1090 , two capons, three loaves of bread and six Lucca deniers of good silver were paid in front of the notary Bellundo for the annual rent of a vineyard in Dieulele , a name derived from the medieval Latin Deus vult or God wants it. Evidently in the eyes of the first settlers that place could not have been so beautiful and welcoming if not by divine will. A land with unchanged charm also thanks to a production philosophy oriented towards sustainability and low environmental impact. Thus were born the Chianti Classico , the flagship wine of the estate, and the Riserva Novecento , a tribute to the nine centuries of history of Dievole.
Dievole is also famous for its Extra Virgin Olive Oil thanks to important awards in the olive oil sector: in 2016 the 100% Italian monocultivar Coratina oil was in fact elected Best Oil in the World by the judges of the international Il Magnifico competition.
