Description
Yamazakura Peated Blended Whiskey is produced by the ancient Japanese distillery Sasanokawa Shuzo, founded in 1765 and located in Koriyama in Fukushima Prefecture. The name "Yamazakura" comes from the Japanese words Yama meaning "mountain" and Sakura meaning "cherry trees".
It is produced from a blend of cereals and peated malt. It is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry barrels for at least 3 years.
Amber yellow in colour, it opens on the nose with smoky and vanilla notes. On the palate it is enveloping and vigorous, with hints of citrus and peat.
Ideal drunk straight.
